I am very
saddened to hear today of Robert Palmer's passing. I'm
thankful to have made his acquaintance during the time we
both lived and worked, separately, in the Bahamas.
Robert was
very into collecting fish for his home tank fed by the use
of a tube that would siphon off from the sea below his
deck. Once we went snorkeling together, just beyond his
place off Love Beach. Robert, always aware of
conservation, had taken a wire coat hanger and
straightened it out in order to poke around the reefs to
encourage the little ones to come out. He'd then get them
with his slurp gun, sucking them in to a tube. Getting
back to his apartment, blowing them gently out into his
home aquarium and looking after them like they were his
babies, showed his sensitive side more than his
gentleman/musician side.
Apart from
being innovative, Robert was a gentle man. I can't believe
he's gone, I really can't!
God rest his
beautiful soul.
