Keith Emerson rejoins The Nice for a 12 date tour
in October 2003.
Emerson, who was infamous in both The Nice
and ELP days for stabbing his instruments and ritually
burning flags, promises a set of Nice and Emerson, Lake and
Palmer songs. These will include The Nice's biggest UK hit
America and ELP's Fanfare for the Common Man
as well as Honky Tonk Train Blues a top 10 solo Keith
Emerson track, plus many surprises.
The Nice were originally the backing band
for soul diva PP Arnold before heading off on their own in
1967. The touring band for the 2003 dates will feature
original band members Keith Emerson (keyboards), Lee Jackson
(bass and vocals) and Brian Davison on drums together with
Pete Riley on drums, Dave Kilminster on guitar and vocals
and Phil Williams on bass. Keith Emerson says 'What we aim
to present is a refined look at what is now known as
Progressive Music. With the help of old and especially new
technology I hope our presentation will provide some insight
into how the music of today has been reached.'
